Carboxymethylcellulose is a clear, colorless, slightly viscous solution. Its composition is 0.5 % w/v  sodium Carboxymethylcellulose I.P.  and 0.005% w/v  Stabilized Oxychloro Complex as a preservative. Carmellose sodium has no pharmacological effect. Its high viscosity results in an increased retention time on the eye. It has a preservative that, on exposure to light, dissociates into water, oxygen, sodium, and chloride ions. Due to its high molecular weight, sodium carboxymethylcellulose is not likely to penetrate the cornea.

Refresh tear eye drop is used to treat and keep eye moisture. Nowadays, everyone uses computers, mobile phones, and other devices for longer. The ray that comes out is very harmful. Due to this, it causes irritation, dryness, and pain in the eyes. 

Some people's eyes get dry in sunlight and dry air. In that condition, you can use this eye drop for Treatment. Some people have problems with air conditioners. 4. Refresh tear eye drop side effects:

The following adverse effects can be seen. Eye irritation (including burning and discomfort), eye pain, eye pruritus, visual disturbance, hypersensitivity including eye allergy with symptoms of eye swelling or eyelid edema, increased lacrimation, blurred vision, eye discharge, eyelid margin crusting and medication residue, foreign body sensation in the eye, ocular hyperemia and superficial injury of eye and corneal abrasion from the container tip touching the eye during administration.

  • Persistent pain in the eye. 
  • Persistent change in the vision. 
  • Persistent redness/irritation of the eye. 
  • Be non-relief of dryness or irritation.
  • Remove the contact lenses of patients before administration of the eye solution. 
  • You can reinsert the lenses after 15 minutes of administering this drug. 
  • The drug may cause transient blurring of vision, impairing the ability to drive or operate machines. 
  • Advise the patient only to drive or use machinery if vision is clear. 
  • Patients need to be instructed that ocular solutions should be handled properly, ensuring the tip of the dispensing container does not contact the eye.
  • Surrounding structures as the solution can get contaminated by common bacteria that cause ocular infections. Don't use the contaminated keys because of severe damage to the eye. Incidental loss of vision may occur.
  • Always replace the cap after use. Do not use it if the color of the solution changes or becomes cloudy. 
  • After opening the container, the solution should be used within one month. Do not use the product after the expiration date marked on the container. 
  •  Patients must be advised that if they develop an intercurrent ocular condition (injury or infection), patients should immediately seek their doctor's advice. 
  • If patients use more than one topical ophthalmic drug, the drugs should be administered at least 15 minutes apart.
  • For pregnant and lactation mothers: The product's constituents have been a pharmaceutical agent with no untoward effects for many years. No special precautions are necessary for the use in pregnancy and lactation.
